A day of sapphic film showcasing lesbian & bisexual stories from across the world on the big screen. From comedy to drama and neo-noir thriller – there is something for everyone to enjoy. In 2023 SaFFlicks brings 3 feature films, a web series and a series of 4 short films to the Quarterhouse in Folkestone. Turning the venue into an LGBTQ+ space for the day. Alongside the film screenings there will be stalls from local LGBTQ+ organisations and a social space upstairs. Come for a film or two, stay for the day and catch up with friends old and new.
Individual tickets available, or purchase a festival pass to watch all 5 screenings; a picnic lunch; access to the social space; plus access to the full festival online on Lesflicks to watch in the comfort of your own home between 13 and 30 November 2023 (includes an additional 29 short films)

The history of SaFFlicks Film Festival (previously LFEST Lesflicks Film Festival)
This film festival ran between 2011 and 2022 incubated within LFEST – the UK’s lesbian arts festival. LFEST was a music, arts and comedy festival in the UK — one of the largest lesbian festivals in the UK that ran between 2011 and 2022. The festival was a 3 day cinema set amongst a backdrop of music, arts, entertainment and camping. Running in its entirety since 2012, it has had a few different organisers over the years.
LFEST sadly ceased running after 10 successful years in 2022.
SaFFlicks is a hybrid festival. All films will show in person, but will also be available for a limited time online. We also plan to run a micro tour of a small selection of the festival programme at 2-5 locations around the UK and in North America. We will discuss this with selected submissions at the time as we know that different titles will have different availability.
This film festival focusses on shorts, webseries and features that celebrate being female and being lesbian, bisexual and queer female in all it’s guises, shapes and sizes.
From 2024 we will be taking our film festival on tour to 3-4 locations around the UK… watch this space!
