DESCRIPTION:Join us to watch and discuss this collection of short films. 4 of the 11 films showing at this year’s Safflicks LGBT History Month Film Festival on Lesflicks. The films come from the UK\, USA and China – offering an interesting variety of views\, experiences and stories of sapphic life. From old to young; documentary to romance. These films are bound to spark an interesting conversation. \nCome and join other like-minded women who share an interest in authentic sapphic stories. Whether you’re looking to make new friends\, meet a potential future partner\, or share this experience with friends – this event will offer an entertaining afternoon in a safe space. \nCollection Description: A collection of Curator’s picks in short film from this year’s festival \nFilms: Ghosted\, Bookmarks\, Flag Act\, The Night \nDuration: 56 mins\, 58 seconds \n  \nSunday 25 February\n4.30pm – doors open\n5pm – films screen\n6pm – post film chat and food \nTickets are available with or without food included. The venue has a great roast dinner menu including vegan and vegetarian options. We want to create a safe space to socialise\, enjoy some lesbian and bisexual short films\, chat and meet. \nThe films do not currently have captions\, but if we receive any subtitles requests for ticketholders before 20 February then we will create subtitles. \nThe films will be projected onto a screen and have small speakers. \nWe want this to be intimate and enjoyable so will be keeping the event to a small group of 20-30 women (and allies as guests). The event is trans and non-binary friendly\, but we ask that core ticketholders be female/sapphic presenting or identifying and allies come as guests to ensure that this space remains primarily available for sapphic women. They serve a delicious mix on pub classics\, Sunday Roasts and Authentic Caribbean dishes. \n  \nThe venue\nThe Ninth Life in Catford\, Lewisham regularly hosts LGBT events in the borough. We’re delighted to be supporting this venue by holding our event here during LGBT History Month. \nThe venue is set across two levels. The film screening takes place in a private room on the first floor. Whilst there are stairs up to the room\, we are advised that it is possible to carry chairs or people up these stairs. DESCRIPTION:A day of sapphic film showcasing lesbian & bisexual stories from across the world on the big screen. From comedy to drama and neo-noir thriller – there is something for everyone to enjoy. In 2023 SaFFlicks brings 3 feature films\, a web series and a series of 4 short films to the Quarterhouse in Folkestone. Turning the venue into an LGBTQ+ space for the day. Alongside the film screenings there will be stalls from local LGBTQ+ organisations and a social space upstairs.
